Brainstorming and Research

Today we made a list of resources that we had on hand and what types of actions we might/can make for our chain. We looked at some youtube videos for inspiration.

These were our favorites:

We know that we want a mentos/coke geyser as our finale.

We liked this chain reaction because it involved a lot of toys.

We LOVE to watch Mythbusters in our free time, so we REALLY like this video.

We are still trying to decide what song to use for our video, but we are looking at our itunes songs and looking up lyrics to make sure there aren't any bad words or scenarios so that we can show this video to everyone, even our young little cousins.

  1. So cool! And man, that was a lot of wasted Diet Coke :)

This would be a cool project to do in school--you could team up with the science teacher for sure.

And next time you should try posting the videos directly onto the post. Here's how:
-when you are adding the post make sure you are on "edit html" as opposed to "compose"
-on the video's youtube page, click the "embed" button below the video
-copy and paste the code into the blog post (it is in html, that is why it is important you are on "edit html")

Hope that is clear! It would be cool to have videos on our blog, as well as images and text.

  2. Oh, and have you thought about what you guys are going to wear in the video/if you are even going to be in it? Lab coats might be cool

  3. I was just going to let everyone wear jeans and their favorite color shirt. Colby will choose either yellow or orange. Brady will probably choose green. I'll choose red or pink and Chad will choose either yellow or blue. Maybe we'll be red, yellow, green and blue!

  4. Thanks for the tutorial on posting actual vids, Laura! I went back and edited the post and it worked great!

  5. The videos are not playing for me. I wonder what's up. I will try to play them in class tonight.

I like how you are using these videos as a resource to show your kids what kinds of things you might do so they can come up with their own ideas.

I like the embedded video thing. Thanks Laura. I will try this when I get my project going.
