My handwriting.

I posted a new entry on my tumblr and this time I did not photoshop text in.  I just left my handwriting in.  It definitely gives it a different feel from the others.

I think my handwriting is good for the more personal posts, but I think for the bible verses the computer generated text is more appropriate.

What do you guys think?

  1. I like your handwriting for both, but I think this is an interesting idea to try and differentiate the two in some way, or to give different significance to each type of text. What purpose do you want the differentiation you are suggesting to serve, or how do you think it will change the meaning for Bible verses and your own words?

I love this piece and I love the way your handwritten text defines the space. I think it really changes the image from the photograph you started (even though I haven't seen the photograph). I get them impression of your parents going on a walk together. I infer a lot. Based on the color, which is reading as kind of a rich brown on my screen, and their clothing I assume it's Autumn. They're out for a walk and I can't see their hands but I think they are holding hands because of the text.

  2. I really like the simplicity of the drawing and the text.

And I also like seeing your handwriting, even with the Bible verses. I copy bible verses into my personal journal a lot. You didn't write the verses, but you choose them because they are meaningful to you (I assume). for that reason I think it would be appropriate to keep your own handwriting.

But I can understand not wanting to as well.

  3. Sojung, that's beautiful.

You are really starting to emerge with an artistic voice. It's been a pleasure to be a witness to this awakening.

I think it would be fine to use your handwriting on the Bible verses, as well. The fact that any particular verse speaks to you so much that you want to combine it with your art makes it a more personal journey.
